when BOTH are supposed to be good...

What would you do if...
both stalls rave of the various media review indicating they are the best in town?
And to make it worse... both carry almost similar stall name.

The answer:
do my own experimental test and go for the real thing (my version). Partner in crime is the most accommodating D.
Love u!

The items:

Verdict:
I'll go for the latter.
The curry soup comes warm and remains so even halfway thru'. The soup base - rich, appropriate saltiness (important factor to curry for me) and fragrance a curry has. Potato is all delicate and the tau pok is amazing. Thinly sliced but soaks up the whole curry favour. Chicken is tender and nothing much to comment on the fish cake.

Why not the earlier?
The whole dish turns cold after tucking in 2 spoonsful. Alittle on the bland side, curry alittle too watery, chilli oil is much more obvious to sight. However, ingredients are more generous in terms of size and type.

My recommendation:
Hock Hai (Hong Lim) Curry Chicken Bee Hoon Noodle
Bedok Interchange Food Centre
Unit 01-37

Fly n Drive

This IS definitely some long overdued entry. It'll be good to classify it as 'fermented' words.

Digress:
[Fermented food products in chinese asian context.. adds the omph factor to the most "boring"/ "basic"/ "bland" for the jab of flavour and taste. One either loves it or dislikes it totally.]

Clue:

Anyhow, it definitely is so appropriate to me in this entry. Amidst my daily routine on this.. (sings) "sunny island, set in the sea... " I'm sooooo looking forward (check out the # of 'o's' equating to OOOOOooooo... ha!) to my fly n drive trip in Hokkaido Japan and my couple of days extension in Tokyo for some oiishi food and some good shopping. AND, I'm gonna create my version of Japan Hour in 30days... woohoo! D's definitely excited too as its his 1st time on the wheels in a foreign land.

We booked the trip at a recent holiday fair... biggest and most anticipated show in town for all Singaporeans. But the interesting point... the queue is way long but upon entering and maneuvering within the halls, its really pack (inverted) afterall. Everyone seems focused to know what they want (ok, where they would like to embark as their next destination). Just the usual promotional comparison, which travel agent they trust (ok, I should say comfortable with).

Well, I just need to stay focus for now and it'll soon be Yokoso Japan!

As for junior R, will wait till he appreciates the art of travelling. Thank you MM- know its gonna be tiring for you with no break 14 days straight to come.
